The return of the threat

Oil has hit the $100 mark only to settle at $99.62 . That my fellow readers is a far too uncomfortable thing to behold. That coupled with a sharp drop in the Dow is a very scary predicament. We are entering the before-the-end phase that come just prior to a full-blown recession.

Now from a historical perspective the recent assasination of Bhenazir Bhutto, in my opinion, parallels the murder of Archduke Franz Ferdianand (of course some may refute that it may also parallel the Kennedy murder). I will know leave
that up in the air for further discussion at a later date.

Now I honestly (although its very overdone) I wish to know, from you the reader, what are your predictions for the year ahead?

Benazir Bhutto...Hardly a perfect angel. She was heavily implicated in several big money laundering operations. Her husband was principle shareholder in a network of Swiss banks. When she was in charge in Pakistan previously her and her husband were involved in governmental gold shipments of which she recieved money to ensure certain companies were able to maintain monopoly. There are also several other deals with contractors and companies to award cantracts to them for a fee. The French, Polish, Spanish, and Swiss governments have substantiated this claim. I did a lot of reading on her a few years ago...she isn't too peachy. Musharif is safe for now. At least he won't let the crazies get the nukes. Yes, he's a dick, but the nukes are what are important in Pakistan at the moment. They do need to continue with the vote at some point, but now is not the time. Musharif is very dissliked. If they went ahead with an election without any viable opposition the air would be ripe for an extremist to rile the people and get them to vote for hum/her. And then guess what happens??? Bombs away. So that's my opinion on that. It's a sensible opinion I think. Oh...ummm...I doubt her death is going to start WW3. I mean, since the government of Pakistan was probably behind the assasination so I fail to see the corralation with Ferdinand. I also fail to see any Kennedy resemblance...maybe Bobby...in a vauge way. Could you explain the similarities for me?

The house market is starting to level off, so that's a positive. The economy is starting to look like it may bounce back.

Now on to oil...sorry if this is long...but I like to type.

There is acctually a good reason that oil prices have been seeing these surges in the last few years. It's a bit messed up, but bare with me. Oil for a long long time was price capped in the US by congress. Oil prices never grew with inflation. They stayed at a certain level. Now, under the Bush administration this cap expired. It had been in effect since the oil crisis of 1980. Adjusted for inflation the price of oil a barrel in 1980 was 95 bucks. Congress capped it and oil prices remained low until Bush and the republican congress allowed it to expire. Everyone freaks out when they see the prices of oil rising. This is due in large part to the media fearmongering and not explaining the real situation. Fox Noise...CNN...MSNBC....all report the same story. - MY GOD OIL IS EXPENSIVE!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!! - Oil is simply catching up with inflation after it wasn't allowed to since 1980. I'm not defending the oil companies...they're dicks...I'm just saying that oil most likely would have been this price if it had just grown naturally. Instead we see this big surge and freak out because that's what the news people want you to do. I don't know if you've been any where else in the world...gas is pretty fucking expensive everywhere in the world. It always has been. Regan capped it, Bush repealed it. Oil families do this to support oil intrests. Fact is, oil companies were loosing substantial money because of oil price capping. Oil companies are Bush's friends...so do the math.

As far as the New Year. I'm excited. Good or bad...it's sure gonna be interesting. Shit...it's been 3 days and it's already interesting. I'm kind of a bad man in the sense that I just love the specticle. Hollywood couldn't make this stuff up.

An kudos to the Justice Department for investigating the CIA tape destruction the right way. Using outside prosecutors and resources was a smart move. I commend Mukasey for that show of good will.

Other than that we're all fucked and welcome to the nose dive...

listen I'm not saying Bhutto was a saint. But to be honest when i mean to compare her to Ferdinand I don't mean as in starting a new world war i just mean how it worsened things for their countries to the point that civil war was difficult to avoid. Mind you Pakistan has always in a sense been dodgy but things have greatly taken a turn for the worse. I 'm very sorry for putting WWIII in the tags for due to my mention of Ferdinand i meant to put "WWII Assassinations". And about the oil, i know about the peak oil scam. I mean , come on, one must be rather dull not to notice it but the reason I report it in this manner is to show how they are manufacturing a means of frightening the populace. Forgive me for not going in to a detailed explanation, but i was rather short on time and my summarized version of my original post was very very devoid of much information that would help clarify what I was attempting to say.

Didn't mean to offend. It's just...all I've heard on the news is all this martyr-ism that just doesn't seem to address the problems. Pakistan is in big trouble, I know that. I just think that Bhutto was not he savior of that country. Maybe I'm wrong...we'll never know now. I do feel the loss of a strong woman in the muslim world as a what it is, a great loss. I'm just not flying any flags for her.

The oil situation doesn't seem all that frightening if it's properly understood. So many understand it and no one is helping anyone understand it. So it seems to the public like it's out of controll...
